The last day of our tour began rather ambitiously. Dilana and I got up, got breakfast, and had ourselves sweating away in a hot yoga class by 9:30 am. (we were pretty proud of this) The class was wonderful and let us begin our day serene and relaxed. This was important because due to an 11:30 pm gig, the day was going to be a long one. After yoga, Dilana mentioned Chinese food and suddenly I had a craving for rice. Matilda was being a good soul, and led us to the nearest buffet. We lingered over a nice lunch and appreciated not having to hurry.
The rest of the day continued on peacefully - laundry, a swim and lots of quiet work time for Dilana, and reading and napping time for me. Lobby call was 9pm. We met Michael and we were on our way. Again, Matilda put her best foot forward for a smooth, quick, drive to the Behrend campus. All week long, finding the student center on these campuses presented us with a challenge and caused us a few late starts, but at Behrend we quickly found ourselves outside the student center in record time. Set up and soundcheck went off without a hitch and we found ourselves with waaaay too much time on our hands. After a quick snack, Dilana found a quiet place to catch a quick power nap.
At 11:30 pm, the crowd was sparse, but Dilana, as usual, gave her best not caring if she played for one or one hundred. Dilana invited Tom, a student guitarist, to come up and play with Michael. They made a great duo, with Dilana adding percussion. My friend Sue and I got to sit and enjoy our favorite Dilana tunes in an easy, late-night cafe atmosphere. Michael and Dilana added She Talks To Angels for their last song, one of my favs, and ended the evening on a good note.
We reached our hotel at 1 am and sat with a glass of Michael's box wine to unwind at this late hour. Michael went to bed, and Dilana and I chatted til 4 am, then made our way to bed also. I had a 9:30 cab booked for my ride to the airport and we decided to get breakfast at 8. Needless to say, it was one quick sleep!
From where I sit, behind the wheel, all I can say today is....such is the life on the road with a rockstar....zzzzz....zzzzz
SUE IS MY FRIEND LINDA!!!!!! hahaha im kidding!
i also LOVE she talks to angels! it is a great song and dilana owns it, as she does every cover!

It was great to see you Linda, and of course Dilana and Michael as well! She Talks to Angels was extra special, and a favorite of mine also. I had a leisurely drive home this AM, and took a side trip to get some Amish cheese. I guess all that discussion of cheese kept with me until today!
