As my plane back to Boston begins to maneuver down the runway, I have some parting thoughts. First of all, I'd like to give a huge thank you to Dilana's manager, Jewels, for the care and organization she took arranging this tour. Everything from A to Z for each day was carefully laid out in an easy to follow format. In addition to that, I'd also like to thank her for being available 24/7 for any question or problem either I or Dilana had. Jewels, you are truly a jewel to work with!
Next, I'd like to thank Dilana for asking me to help her out this past week. I don't get to go on many adventures in my quiet retired life by the sea, so this was an extra special experience for me. This was my first rodeo being driver, tour manager and PA and I'd like to thank Dilana for being patient and giving me a few days to get used to the car and make friends with Matilda and finally settle into smooth sailing. Dilana is my best friend and I wanted nothing more than to give her a safe, peaceful, and enjoyable week, free from stress and hassle, but when you've never done something before, it can be a bit intimidating, and I'd like to thank her for the confidence and trust she placed in me, as once again she has me "jumping out of airplanes". Over the years she has done alot for me and this was my chance to give back and I so didn't want to screw it up. Once I got my legs under me, I began to relax and enjoy myself, as well as enjoy my time with her and Michael. Each moment spent with them will remain a fond memory I will cherish forever. For those of you who are fans of Dilana's music and have seen her perform live, you can appreciate how wonderful it was getting to see her do six shows in one week. She and Michael both outdid themselves and each show was different from all the others. Our down time was easy and peaceful and full of much laughter. I want to thank both of them for their encouragement as we became a little traveling family for eight days - Troop Dilana rocked!
I'd also like to thank my dear husband Rick for all his support whenever I venture out to do new things. He's my biggest cheerleader and I love him dearly.
Lastly, I'd like to thank my readers for tuning in each day and all the nice compliments you have given me encouraging me to continue my writing pursuits. As of Monday I will be returning to my Typepad homepage and resume writing Another Day Goes By. I was happy you all could ride along with us, and share my view, from where I sat, behind the wheel. Cheers all, and have a great weekend!
PS- One final, heartwarming moment Dilana cherished this week:
Here is her pic with some very special friends of hers she got to connect up with at the Anne Arundel gig, Josh (Cruisin' Crips DJ) and friends.
